LIGHT CITY BALTIMORE, AN INAUGURAL EVENT IN BALTIMORE STARTING MARCH 28TH-APRIL 3RD IS A SHOWCASE OF INNOVATION.
Embedding lighting elements, performances and music, the festival will submerge many areas of the city into a spectacle that is the first of its kind. Kicking off the lead up to the launch date, a competition featuring members of the Baltimore Bartenders’ Guild for the official cocktail of the event, the Blue Hour Cocktail, was hosted at one of my favorites—Mt. Vernon’s Ware House 518.
The Top Eats of EmporiYUM
Last week vendors and foodies gathered for a weekend of eats and drinks from places as far as Detroit, the Carolinas, and of course, the DMV at 2016’s EmporiYUM. Most companies focused on guilt-free eating, unique flavors, and collaborative efforts between brands within the city.
Walking around the venue, I put together a list of my favorite eats from the event that showcased what makes the Baltimore restaurant industry so awesome.
The Local Fry: Not Your Average Potato
The Local Fry calls Fed Hill home and is the love child of wife and husband team, Elizabeth and Kevin Irish. With Elizabeth’s Korean background and Kevin coming to the U.S. from Ireland, these two have taken their roots and fused them together. The result? Something that I can only describe as some of the most refreshing, light, and delicious food I’ve enjoyed in a very long time.
